
















a. Molecular Genetics Technologist/Laboratory Scientist
The successful candidate has experience in molecular biology/genetics and a strong track record (5+ years) of development and performance of complex laboratory protocols. Responsibilities of the position include the highest quality of NextGen sequencing, efficient troubleshooting, novel methods development, identification and adaptation of new technologies and new test development. In the context of the collaborative R&D Division, the (scientist) will participate in experimental design, experimental execution, analyses and co-authoring of manuscripts. Experience in a diagnostic laboratory is required. Previous experience in NextGen sequencing is not required, training will be provided. A Bachelors Degree and a CLIA license are required; a MS in Genetics and/or PhD is preferred.
b. Bioinformatics Specialist
The successful candidate will be part of the bioinformatics team building and operating the knowledge based bioinformatics infrastructure for the next generation of clinical molecular diagnostic testing based on Next Generation DNA sequencing. We seek an entry level individual to participate in developing and operating pipelines for the processing of data from generation through analysis, interpretation and reporting. The Bioinformatics Specialist will participate in developing, testing, validating and operating bioinformatics software pipelines, installing and maintaining the associated hardware infrastructure and maintaining standard operating procedures. Education or experience in basic bioinformatics concepts and algorithms is required. Experience in bioinformatics database and software tools is preferred.
c. Mitochondrial Medicine Diagnostic Clinician
We currently seek an individual to join our Variant Interpretation Team. • The ideal candidate is highly skilled in searching, critically reading and extracting diagnostically relevant information from the scientific literature and sequence variation databases. He/she will distill, integrate and present this information and be a key individual involved in developing and maintaining a mitochondrial disease and associated genomic variants knowledge base. Ten years of experience in genetics/molecular biology is required.
Required: Licensed MD with expertise in MitoMedicine, or MD/PhD licensed in Clinical Molecular Diagnosis by the American College of Medical Genetics.
Preferred: • Experience in mitochondrial medicine and/or research • Informatics expertise • Excellent writing and presentation skills • A PhD • Experience within a clinical diagnostic lab.
