Specimen Requirements for MitoDx™

  1. A completed MEDomicsTM Test Request Form
  2. A referring physician's signature on the Test Request Form 
  3. Sample   

Whole blood samples

Two EDTA (lavender top) or ACD (yellow top) tubes, ~5-10 cc each (for a total of ~10-20 cc) are required for testing. Blood samples should be kept at ambient temperature and shipped by overnight courier to MEDomicsTM within 72 hours after specimen collection. DO NOT FREEZE.  

DNA samples

Extracted DNA samples are acceptable for testing. Samples should contain a minimum of 1μg DNA at a concentration of ≥10ng/μl. DNA purity (A260/280) should be ≥1.7.

We also accept saliva and buccal swab samples.
